Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint - Pole Position

The Barry M Speedy Quick Dry nail paint does exactly what it says on the bottle. The new brush design means you have super quick application and you can coat the whole nail in just one brush stroke. I do find you need two coats for the full colour effect and the light minty green is the perfect shade for Summer. The wear time for this is about 2/3 days without any chipping but I have found that it is easy to patch up the chips without having to repaint your whole nails.

Graduation Guide: Outfit Inspiration

If your graduating soon you may be looking for the perfect outfit so that you dazzle on your big day. Here is a little outfit inspiration to help you pick your killer style. It's great that you can pick up some amazing pieces on the highstreet so there is no need to splash too much cash.

My top tips for when you're picking your graduation outfit

-  Consider what colour your gown will be, you don't want to wear a dress that will blend in
-  Go for a longer dress, you don't want to be worrying about keeping covered
-  Wear heels/ shoes that are comfortable, because you don't want to be falling over on stage!
-  Block colours look great under a black gown and will make your whole look pop
-  Make sure your outfit is comfortable you need to be able to sit and stand (pose for photos)

Peachy Nude Mac Lip Combo

If you're looking for the perfect summer nude lip then look no further then Mac. This easy lip combo will make your lips look fuller and more defined.

Start by outlining and filling in your lips with the Mac lip pencil in In Synch. It is important to apply product over your whole lips and not just line them because this will stop your lipstick fading unevenly.

The next step is to apply the Mac Lustre lipstick in Patisserie all over your lips. The lipstick has a soft peach undertone, which means the colour looks fabulous with a tan. It's also a great shade to apply when you're on the go because of it's neutral colour you don't have to worry too much about missing your lip line and it's easy to neaten up.

Top Tip:
Apply a good lip balm before you start applying the rest of your makeup so it gets a chance to sink in before you start on your lips. My favourite to use is the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. Because you're using a lipliner all over your lips this can have a drying effect and your want your lips to look smooth and plump all day not dry and cracked.

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint - Huckleberry

The Gelly Hi Shine range by Barry M is a nail varnish which is supposed to look like a fresh gel manicure. The extra glossy finish leaves your nails looking healthy and strong and is fairy long wearing. Not as long wearing as a gel manicure but can last for at least 3/4 days on your nails. I chose the shade Huckleberry which is a dusty blue colour similar to the iconic Tiffany blue. The nail varnish can be a little patchy when apply it but after just two coats you have a nice even layer.

The Graduation Guide

Whether your graduating from high school or university, you'll be celebrating a massive achievement. Here are some helpful tips for when it comes to packing your clutch.

You don't want to be carrying around a handbag full of stuff you won't need, so here are the things you really need to keep with you on graduation day! The only other editions you may need, which I haven't included in this guide are a pair of sunglasses (depending on the weather), a compact camera and your phone.

Beauty Essentials
To keep yourself looking tip top for all your photos and feeling fantastic all day pack yourself some makeup essentials.

Starting from the obvious a powder compact will keep any shine at bay and also keep your skin looking flawless. Something else that will help you staying flawless is concealer, you may not need to use it but if it's a hot day you may find your makeup will wear off throughout the day.

Taking a lipgloss/ lipstick is also essential. With all the chatting and smiling you'll need to keep reapplying throughout the day.

A mini perfume is optional but it's quite nice stay smelling fresh.

Finally hairspray, it will not only help your hair stay in place but you can also use it to give your hair a little refresh after taking your cap off.

Things you'll probably forget/ won't even think about taking
Between thinking about what you're going to wear, what to do with your hair and how to do your makeup, there's a lot to consider! It's the smaller things you forget to think about, some things I wish I had packed with me on the day were safety pins, hair grips and blister plasters.

Safety pins are essential for not only keeping your sash in place but it also helps keep your gown on. On my graduation I found my gown kept slipping off my shoulders, which was really annoying, and not something you want to be worrying about.

Hair grips are also great for holding things like your sash and gown in place but they are also really good for helping your graduation cap stay on.

Blister plasters probably don't need explaining but if your thinking of wearing helps be prepared!

Dior Addict Gloss Review

The Dior Addict Gloss in 063 Fascinante is part of the Mirror Shine Volume and Care Lip Gloss collection. The gloss is made with the Mirror Shine Complex which uses polarised crystalline micro-spheres to reflect the light, leaving your lips with a mirror finish. The gel formula also claims to plump and moisture your lips leaving them with a volume boosted effect.

Having tried the gloss I can confirm that your lips are left looking fuller and plumper. When applied in a thin layer your lips aren't overly shiny and "mirror effect" but the gloss can be layered to create a much glossier finish. I personally prefer one lip coat of gloss because I don't like the feeling of overly glossy lips.

The product doesn't have a very strong pigment but this shade does leave your lips with a soft pink tint. It wears pretty well on the lips but you do need to reapply if you eat or drink anything, but the good news is because the packaging is attract I don't mind topping up my lips in public. The gloss has a glossy constancy and feels similar to vaseline on your lips which is great because it means you don't get the sticky hair in lip gloss issues you can get with thicker products.

I would recommend this lip gloss if you're looking for something nice a light this summer but also want to treat yourself to something a little more luxury. £22.50 is pretty expensive for a lipgloss and there are many other comparable products available in the drug store. But if you want to splash out on something you can wear everyday it's a great product to go for.

Barry M Matt Nail Paint - Vanilla

The Barry M Matt Nail Paint in Vanilla is one of my most recent purchases. It's a soft taupe colour with a matt finish. The varnish applies fairly evenly and is easy to build to the perfect shade in two coats. Being a matt shade you don't need to add a top coat so it's pretty quick to use. I have found this nail varnish to be pretty long wearing and lasts about 2 to 3 days on my nails without chipping.

Barry M Nail Paints are always great value for money at only £3.99 each and they tend to always be on an offer for 3 for 2 or similar in Boots and Superdry.

Quick Daily Spring Makeup

Im all about saving time when it comes to my morning makeup routine. If I'm just going to work and not doing anything else I use this super quick makeup routine so that I can get up and be out the house within 30 minutes!

After completing my morning skincare routine (see post for full details) I prime my skin with the La Biosthetique Glow Base. This is a lovely light weight primer which blurs the appearance of pores and skin imperfections. It also improves the length of time your makeup stays in place.

In the Spring I want to keep my makeup light to give my skin a chance to breath. The Olay Total Effects CC Cream is the quickest base I have found for providing a light/medium coverage without feeling heavy one my skin.

The CC Cream doesn't cover up everything so if I do have any dark circles or blemishes I use the Revlon Colourstay Concealer. This is a creamy moisturising, high coverage concealer which will make most imperfections disappear without creasing or drying out the skin.

I add some colour to my cheeks with the elf Contouring Blush & Bronzer which cost only £3 and is a great dupe for the Nars Laguna Bronzer and Orgasm Blush. I have found this to be a really handy duo and have hit pan on both the blush and the bronzer!

Moving to the eyes I use the Benefit Gimme Brow in light/medium to quickly fill in a plump up the look of my brows. I think the Gimme has got to be a Holy Grail product for me! It contains tiny fibres which fills in your brows and adds just the right amount of colour.

To add some colour to my lids I use the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin. This is a creamy champagne eyeshadow primer which can be worn alone (which I do when Im in a rush) or can be used as the perfect creaseless base for eyeshadow.

Next is a step I sometimes skip but do most of the time is liquid eyeliner. I would love to be able to do the perfect cat eye flick but the fact is I am really rubbish at doing them, so a simple lash line is what I stick to. I have found the Bourjois Liner Pinceau Eyeliner is the easiest and most long lasting liner to use.

The Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara is my favourite mascara at the moment. It is great for building lash length and volume. The one downside I have found is that it doesnt hold the curl in my lashes very well but I'm not sure if this is due to the mascara or me poorly curling them.

I have left lipstick/ gloss out of this because I tend to mix this up everyday. Sometimes I just used a lip balm and on days when I'm feeling a bit bolder I'll use a bright red lipstick. I have a post coming up soon which is going to be my top 5 Summer lipsticks if you are looking for some lip inspiration.

How To Dress Up Your Plain Black Dress

Every girl has a little black dress in her wardrobe, it's the number one wardrobe staple. There are many different styles the little black dresses can come in, and finding your perfect LBD is what matters. What may look good on one person may not look so good on their best friend! For me my LBD is a basic skater dress. I have worn my LBD so many times you would think that I would be sick of it by now but I'm actually not. I have worn it with so many different accessories and jackets that no outfit has ever been the same.

A lot of people say that your little black dress is the one piece of clothing which you should invest in and spend a little more then you usually would on a dress. Now I do agree that if you have managed to find the dress that makes you feel amazing yes splash as little extra money but I don't think you really need to spend a lot to feel good. My dress cost me around £12 and I love it! I think that if you are looking for your perfect dress ASOS is always a great place to look because you'll find dresses ranging from £8 - £300.

Here is one thats very similar to mine.

My key styling tips for a little black dress are:

1. Add a statement necklace.
There are so many different styles of statement necklace and again like your choosing your LBD its finding the one that's right for you a your personal style. I picked up this layered chunky pearl necklace really cheaply off Ebay and I love it!

2. Dress it up or down with a jacket
I like to take a jacket when I go out int the evening because even in the summer it can get a little chilly. I usually go with an oversized blazer because it compliments the shape of my dress, but that looks tailored will keep your outfit smart.

3. Add a pair of heels
I like to wear heels when I go out in the evening. My personal preference is nude heels because I think they do a fab job of elongating your legs but I do think heels are a great place to inject some colour into your outfit.

4. Think about your makeup
A bold red lip always looks great with a black dress. One of my favourite red lips is the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Amazing Grace. It gives your lips a lovely natural red look but is also easy to maintain throughout the night because it fades naturally.

5. Finish with a clutch bag
If you have gone for a nude/ neutral heel option its nice to inject a little colour into your outfit with cute clutch bag. I often wear the metallic gold Rebecca Minkoff bag because it adds colour without being to out there. It also comes with a detachable shoulder strap which I find really hand so you have your hands free throughout the evening.
