Trying out some French skincare

La Roche-Posay is a French skincare brand which has been raved about by what feels like every beauty blogger. This brand used to be really hard to get a hold of in the UK but it has recently become more readily available. I picked up a few bits to try from Feel Unique.

Healthy snack ideas with Graze

Since I started working in a office at the beginning of the year I have really started to notice a difference in my body shape and eating habits. Before, when I was at uni I used to do a lot of walking and because I was out an about I didn't really have time to snack.

Autumn Essentials

Even though the sun is gone and the days are getting shorter there is still always the need for the perfect pair of sunglasses. Until I can save up and treat myself to a nice new pair of Celine glasses, I picked up these cat eye shades from eBay.

A vist to Lush Oxford Circus

Last week I visited the Lush store on Oxford Circus for the first time. I was instantly blown away by the size of the store. My nearest Lush in Watford is really tiny so entering into this three floor Lush was a dream!

Fleur de Force has just launched her first makeup range to follow on from her last launch. The range includes lip gloss, eyeshadow quads and a cosmetic bag all are available now on Feel Unique. Having watched Fleur's video where she first shares the news of the products I knew I'd have to give them a go (I don't take much convincing to try something new).

Weekend Makeup

Keeping things natural is my main aim when applying makeup. Not only do I not like the feel of to much makeup sitting on my skin, I also don't think heavily applied makeup looks good on me. At the weekend I like to take a little more time over applying my make up and I like to try out new products.

Autumn Pamper Night Routine

With the weather changing it's the perfect time to treat yourself to a night of pampering. I find as the weather gets colder my skin starts to become drier and more sensitive. This is mainly caused by the constant changing for the outside chill and indoor central heating. Here are some of my favourite products for keeping my skin and hair feeling nice through the colder season.

Beauty Wish List - Charlotte Tilbury

Charlotte Tilbury has just launched in John Lewis and seeing the press and hype around the launch has made me fall in love with Charlotte Tilbury all over again. Known for her iconic looks, Charlotte Tilbury is makeup artist to the stars. Charlotte launched her makeup line into Selfridges in 2013 and it has been an incredible success ever since.

At Home Gel Nails - Red Carpet Manicure

I've had my Red Carpet Manicure set for about a year now and I'm still loving it. The gel polish lasts on my nails for 5-7 days depending on hands on I am through the week. I recently invested in a few new shades and one of my favourites is this pinky/coral shade; 222 Mimosas By The Pool. This lovely dark pink, coral shade is perfect for the summer and adds a bright burst of colour to your nails. I found that this shade only needed two layers to achieve and opaque finish, whereas other colours I have had to do at least 3 shades.

Speedy Superfood Salad

I wanted to start eating healthier at work, but after having spent all day at work the last thing I wanted to do when I came home was to prepare a salad, so I found myself throwing together a quick sandwich in the morning before running out the door. What I have now got into the habit of doing is making a massive salad bowl on a Sunday evening which I leave in the fridge and portion out each day for lunch. This has massively improved my efforts to eat healthily and I find the salad is far more filling then having a sandwich.

The Best Beauty Capsules? La Biosthetique New Launch

Beauty capsules have been around for a few years now but are typically targeted towards helping the signs of skin ageing. La Biosthetique have just launched the new Hydro-Actif La Capsule Hydratante. These luxury little capsules are packed with hydration and help to charge the skin with much needed moisture. Unlike other brands, they do help if you have concerns towards skins ageing but they are also great for younger skin that needs some serious hydration.

The capsules come in a box of 60 so you get a lot of product for your money. Each little capsule contains a thick gel like serum, which when rubbed between your fingers warms up for easy application. The gel sinks into the skin quickly and doesn't leave you with an oily residue. The capsules have a lovely, light scent which smells like a luxury spa and is very relaxing. If you're not a fan of scented skin care this product will still probably be alright for you. Even though it has a scent it's formula means that you won't have any sensitivity.

The products packaging adds to it's luxury feel. The capsules are presented in a thick plastic tub with a silver lid. Being made from a plastic material means it's much lighter then other brands who package their products in glass. This means it's really travel friendly so it's great for on the go.

Overall I have really enjoyed using this product. The product sinks so easily into the skin and leaves it feeling full of hydration. I have been using one capsule each week and it has been really helping to keep my skin in good condition and has helped to clear up many of my dry patches. I think if you have severely hydrated skin this product would be great to use everyday to get your skin back to normal without making it go the other way and turn greasy.

Estee Lauder Little Black Primer. Does It Work?

When I saw this product launched a few months back I didn't really think it would be a product for me. In the morning I am all about speed and quick multipurpose products. However after seeing so many rave reviews I reconsidered my initial opinion and picked it up.

This lash primer unlike many others on the market isn't just for prepping the lashes for mascara it can be used in three ways. First is colour and lift bare lashes, so you can have a natural lash look without piling on tones of mascara and unlike most primers which a white this primer is black so it helps to intensify your lashes colour and add definition. Secondly it can be used underneath mascara to give added volume, lift and length. Finally it can be brushed on top of any mascara for a long wearing, water resistant top coat which helps to reduce smudging and flaking.

I have tried the primer in two of the three ways its made for. Firstly I tried using it just by itself to see if it was actually dark enough to wear on its own. I have naturally very light blonde lashes so I have to wear mascara everyday to give my eyes some sort of definition. After applying one coat I found that it gave my lashes a light wash of colour but enough colour that my lashes looked naturally dark. The curved wand grips your individual lashes perfectly and adds loads of curl, which holds really well. The primer lasted on my lashes all day holding both the curl and the colour.

Secondly I used the primer underneath my mascara. As before the primer added colour and curl to my lashes, but using it under my mascara also helped to add extra length. I found my mascara went on really smoothly over the top without clumping. I find my mascara tends to flake away a bit if I have been wearing it all day but I have to say this actually stopped any flaking away.

I am really impressed with the primer and have found that it works really well on my lashes. It's a step I might not use everyday but for the days that I want knock out lashes I will defiently be reaching for this.

Glorious Soup - As good as homemade?

Who are Glorious?
Glorious Foods are a company that are passionate about bold, unexpected flavours and they aim to unearth authentic recipes and ingredients from around the world. Glorious brings you original tasty dishes and fresh flavours, in your own home.

The Good Stuff
One of my favourite things about these soups are their amazing ingredients. Everything that goes into this SkinnyLicious New England In Autumn soup can be found in your fridge or kitchen cupboards. It's also a really filling and healthy meal, each tub contains two large servings so it's perfect to share with a friend or have over two days.

Serving Tips
The New England In Autumn soup lends itself perfectly to being served with a crusty wholemeal roll but if your looking for something a little different then why no try making some super quick homemade croutons. Simply chop up any bread you have into chunks and scatter on a baking tray. Lightly drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Bake in the oven for around 10 minutes till pieces are lightly toasted and delicious.

My Thoughts
"Unlike many other shop-bought soups this has a lovely thick texture. I have found fresh vegetable soups in the past that they are quite watery with chunks of vegetables which doesn't really do it for me. As the name suggests this soup has the perfect culmination of Autumn flavours, the sweet butternut squash going really well with the spice cumin. The balance of flavours is delicious and the spice of the cumin is not overpowering."

My Mum's Thoughts
"This is a really well seasoned soup full of flavour, I usually have to add extra seasoning to shop bought soups but this one is just perfect and doesn't need anything added. I found the soup to be very filling and half the tub was the perfect amount for me."

My Little Gypset Box

This months My Little Box is all about taking a break from your everyday life, turning off technology and just taking time for yourself. The box is in collaboration with Antik Batik this month so the magazine features some an interesting article from Gabriella Cortese.

This month came packed with 4 awesome beauty bits. First thing I pulled out was the My Little Beauty Caresse D'ete which in English is Summer Caress bronzing powder. The bronzer compact comes in a really handy compact with a large mirror so it will be great to throw in your handbag. The bronzer itself has a warm tone with a light shimmer running through so it will be ideal for using all over the face to give a sun kissed look.
Next is the Korres Bergamot Blossom and Sweet Pear moisturising body milk. I haven't tried any Korres products before so I am really looking forward to giving this a go.
Another brand I haven't heard of before is So Susan, I got the Colour Hybrid Velvety lip/ cheek mousse. This looks like an interesting product, it is a highly pigmented red mousse in a lip gloss tube style applicator. I don't think it is something that I will be using on my cheeks but I will definitely give it a go on my lips.
The final product I received was a pack of 4 hair ties which are made from a really soft fabric so they should be delicate on your hair. They're also all in pretty patterned fabric so they can double as bracelets.

The main item in the box is a soft canvas material bucket bag which is designed by Antik Batik. It has a really pretty aztec style print so will be perfect for summer and festivals. It also conveniently folds so it will be easy to pack if your off on holiday. The bag is a really good size, it is big enough to fit all your essentials in for a day out as the canvas material allows a lot of give.

Obsessing Over Interiors

For the past few weeks I can't seem to keep myself away from looking up interior design on Pinterest and Instagram, I'm officially hooked! Although I'm not yet at the stage where I can afford my own place (fingers crossed for a year from now) I still can't stop browsing homeware sites and looking up style inspiration. Pinterest has been one of my favourite sources for browsing other peoples amazing creativity and ideas. Here are some of my favourite pins, you can probably see the theme I like..

Making use of narrow spaces and maximising storage is an important factor for your first house. I love this slim storage unit as it gives you the perfect space to store shoes, hats and scarves. It also gives you a place to add some personality to a corridor which may otherwise look very plain.

In a kitchen I love clean white mixed with real wood. A country style kitchen has always been my dream but you can add a country feel to any kitchen with small touches of wood and fresh flowers.

For me the bedroom is my favourite room of the house and it has to be the place where you can fully relax. Having lots of cushions and throws makes your bed the perfect place to cosy up and relax. Keeping the colour scheme neutral and having lots of light in the room is a must for me.

The living room is a place where you can really express your personality. I love a neutral theme with bright pops of colour and interesting artwork on the walls.

Charlotte Tilbury Champagne Diamonds Blue Eyes Shadow Pencil

So I did a little shopping on my latest visit to Selfridges and picked up a few Charlotte Tilbury treats. The first thing I grabbed was the Charlotte Tilbury Make Up Bag I'm sure you have seen it in many Instagram snaps but I couldn't resist this iconic bag. Its a lovely cottony fabric which is lined in a dark colour so it won't show wear and tear/ makeup leakages.

The Charlotte Tilbury Champagne Diamonds is a colour morphing eyeshadow stick for designed for blue eyes. This gorgeous champagne shade is perfect for blue eyes as the glitter particles reflect the eyes natural colour and make them pop.

The shadow stick itself is lovely, soft and creamy texture which blends out easily either with a brush or your finger. I have found though that the eyeshadow does set quite quickly, and once it's set, it doesn't budge! With that in mind as long as you blend as you go you are left with a really great long lasting eyeshadow.

The eyeshadow stick can be worn in two ways, either as bold line or blended out to create a soft glow around the eye area. I like to apply it lightly all over the lid, blending it out as I go, then go back in and do a more defined line along the upper and lower lash line.
